Spectrum Showcase: An Evening of Independent Queer Cinema

  • Chapeltown Picture House 50 Red Bank Manchester, England, M4 4HF United Kingdom (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Kick-off Manchester Pride weekend with a night of independent LGBTQ+ filmmaking.

The screening begins with a varied range of shorts, from a drama about the struggles of being closeted for a British-Nigerian man to a comedy about a transgender man, his boyfriend, and his dildo.

We even have two animations – one backed by the BFI and one created on Microsoft PowerPoint.

The second half of the screening is the mid-length film Spectrum, which depicts one night on Canal Street from the perspective of a range of characters whose lives intersect – it’s a time capsule of a pre-COVID night out!

Films will be screened with English SDH subtitles where possible. However, we don’t have subtitle tracks for The Daughter I Never had and Slut Shamed.
